Arrival and Dismissal
The staff at Antietam Elementary wishes to provide a quality instructional program for students while still ensuring their safety and general welfare. Student and parent cooperation in observing the following guidelines will help the staff to accomplish this goal:
1. Plan to arrive at school to be admitted into the building at 8:35 a.m.
2. Playing on the school grounds before school is not permitted.
3. Upon dismissal at 3:25 p.m. from school, walkers must immediately leave the school grounds and walk directly home.

5. Walk on sidewalks. Respect your school and your neighbors' yards.
6. Pushing, running, and playing in the street are not allowed.
7. Do not cross major roads such as Antietam Road and Oakwood Drive without a crossing guard.
8. Respect the rights of others and be polite to everybody. Teasing or mistreating other students will not be tolerated.
9. Everybody needs to be crossed by the crossing guard.
Late Arrival and Early Dismissal
Students should arrive at school starting at 8:35 a.m. Students should not arrive at school early as there is no provision for supervision of those students.
Any student arriving at school after 8:50 a.m. is tardy. After 8:50 a.m. students should report to the office for a tardy slip before going to class.
A request to have a child excused from class early should be sent with the child on the morning of early dismissal. The time the child will be leaving should be included. A student will be released only to the parent unless the school has been notified in writing by the parent that he/she has granted permission for someone else to pick up the student. The office will call for the student to come to the office for dismissal.
