Dear Antietam Elementary Parents and Guardians:
It is that time of year again when we administer state and federally mandated Standards of Learning (SOL) tests. Please refer to the testing schedule below. These tests will determine whether Antietam Elementary achieves state accreditation. Although these tests are taken by students in grades 3-5, our students in Early Start-2nd are impacted by the daily schedule.
Listed below are some of the changes that take place during state testing.
● Lunch schedules will be modified for the testing grades on the days of their testing. Please check with your Child’s teacher if you are planning to come on any particular day. A modified recess schedule will be sent to teachers to take students outside once testing is completed.
● Once testing begins (approx. 8:30 am) visitors will have limited access parts of the building.
● Please spend time with your child reviewing & preparing them for these schedule changes
● The resource schedule is altered due to resource staff being utilized as examiners/proctors for upcoming SOL tests.
A modified resource schedule will be sent to teachers to take students to resource once testing is completed.
