ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

 

 

Antietam Elementary, named after the Civil War Battle of Antietam, is located in the beautifully wooded community of Lake Ridge, and opened in the fall of 1990. Antietam Elementary has been designated by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Fully Accredited School and is also a Prince William School of Excellence.

 

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Antietam is the home of on-site gifted, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and Reading Recovery Programs. Autism, intellectually disabled and pre-school handicapped classes are also part of the Antietam community.

 

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS & EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Antietam boasts a Chess Club, Mustang Coders Club, Boy and Girl Scouts, FLL and VEX IQ Robotics Teams, Fifth Grade Strings, and, for the staff, Teachers as Readers.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Parents at Antietam are invited to participate in the PTA and Principal's Advisory Council. Other tutoring, volunteer and mentoring opportunities are also available.
