Preschool Opportunity

Dear Parents,

The Prince William County Public School Preschool Special Education Program has an Integrated Preschool opportunity at Antietam Elementary School.

Our Integrated Program at Antietam Elementary School will serve children ages three and four years old with developmental delays and appropriate peer models.  There will be six openings for children ages three and four years of age to serve as peer models during the 2021-22 school year.  Children must be at least 36 months old by September 30, 2021, and live in the Antietam Elementary school attendance area.

Selection Process:

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a questionnaire will be sent to each family, and a phone call and/or Zoom meeting will be scheduled to talk to you and your child.  Children must demonstrate age-appropriate language and social skills to qualify for the lottery selection.  Parents of the children who are selected will be notified.  Children who are not selected will be notified and placed on a waiting list.  Selected children will be on a trial basis for the first month of the 2021-22 school year to determine an appropriate fit for the program due to the inability to hold an in-person playgroup.

You will need to provide the teacher with proof of residency (deed or lease) and 2 additional proofs (water bill, electric bill, driver’s license, etc.) and your child’s birth certificate. These should be emailed to the teacher along with a questionnaire that will be sent to you to be completed.

Enrollment Process and Agreement:

Children who are selected for the Integrated program will need to be registered at Antietam Elementary School.  Registration forms will be completed at the parent orientation before school begins.  A physical/well-child check and immunization record will be required at this time.  Three and four-year-old children will be enrolled in school five days per week for a half-day session.
