By order of the Governor of Virginia, all Prince William County Public Schools will remain closed to students through the end of the 2019-20 school year (June 2020), due to the health concerns caused by COVID-19 (coronavirus).

"3rd Grade Team Page"  This is where you will find a list of Optional resources for student learning at home.  You can access the site by clicking on this link:  3rd Grade Team Resources

Update April 17, 2020

I hope all families are doing well and are staying healthy!  As we begin next week we will be adding to our 3rd Grade Team Page (the link is above).   Starting Monday you will find a recorded lesson given by one of the 3rd grade teachers each day covering a particular content area with accompanied activities for the week.  On the 3rd Grade Team page you will see a new option called the "Virtual School House Weekly Schedule"  This is where you and students can find all the lessons for the week and the schedule for Teacher Meetings on Zoom, and Encore activities.  All you need to do is click on the lesson you would like to see and then click on any of the links to the activities that support the lesson.  Starting next week, I will hold Zoom meetings on Tuesday's & Thursday's from 1:00-2:00.  I will continue to send invites via Seesaw.  As part of the Zoom meetings, I will be sharing one of the lessons for the week.  Please keep in mind all of these lessons/activities are optional and will not be given a grade.  However students are invited to send completed work from these activities to receive feedback from their teacher.  If you choose to do this, you can send it via Seesaw or you can email me at neilas@pwcs.edu.
As always if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Update April 2, 2020

Dear Parents,

Under the new guidance from the school district we are encouraged to help students redo, or complete assignments that were assigned on or before March 13th.  If you would like to have your student complete any assignments they did not have a chance to turn in, or redo an assignment please let us know.  We will do our best to send you the original assignment (as some assignments are not accessible from home) or we will replace it with a similar assignment that aligns with the same standard.  We are here to help our students achieve success even during this difficult time!  Please reach out to your teacher for incomplete assignments or any questions you may have.   3rd grade Team

I hope all families are Healthy and Safe!

March 26th Update

On the 3rd grade Class Pages there is a new addition called "3rd Grade Team Page"  This is where you will find a list of Optional resources for student learning at home.  You can access the site by clicking on this link:  3rd Grade Team Resources In addition, in my Useful Links folder, there are new Nearpod resources.  These are links and students will just need to click on the link to access the activity.  There are also activities that I assigned to each student in Seesaw.  Students will have to log into Seesaw using their home log in codes.  If you do not have their log in codes, please email me or contact me through Seesaw and I can provide the code to you.  Please remember all of these resources are provided as an option for practice at home and will not be graded.

PWCS has created a web page for Home Learning resources and activities - you can access the new page by clicking on this link  http://www.pwcs.edu/cms/One.aspx?portalId=340225&pageId=41506907

Students should continue reading at least 20 minutes every day, at a minimum. They should also continue to practice their basic addition/subtraction and multiplication facts to continue building their fact fluency.  Please check Seesaw https://web.seesaw.me/ and this page frequently for any updates or additional resources for students to access while at home.  If you or your student is having trouble connecting to Seesaw please contact me so that I can get you connected.

If students need more reading material they can log in through clever (instructions on how to log in from home are in the Files and Documents section) and use MyOn as well using Dreambox to practice their math skills.  Additionally, many on-line educational web sites that require a subscription are providing free access to students during this time.

I have posted a few resources in the Files and Documents students can access at this time.  These are items we were working on in class that might help them keep up with some of the content they have learned and are learning.  At this time any resources posted in the Files are for practice only.  These will not be graded. In addition the instructional calendar for 3rd grade is posted in the files and documents section
