Welcome to Ms. Glaze's 4th Grade website. This website was created for all my OWLs (Outstanding, Wonderful, Learners) and their parents/guardians to keep you informed about what is happening in our classroom and in our school.
I am excited to see what this year has in stored for us.
Thank you to all the parents that made it out to Back to School Night. I enjoyed meeting everyone.
If you will like to sign up for parent teacher conference, you can send me an email and I can email you a list of available time slots.
Week of October 3-7, 2016
3x6, 9x5, 7x7,
This week we are starting our unit of multiplication, arrays, and multiples. Students, make sure you are practicing your basic multiplications facts daily at home.
What is...Main Idea, Details, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Homophones?!?!
We are in for a real treat this week. No spelling words, which means no spelling test will be given this week. We will start are week off learning about Main Ideas and Details. Also, the students will start their guided reading groups. I am most excited about the guided reading groups because it gives me a chance to work with a small group of students at a time to hear them read to me and each other.
Lets head to Jamestown Kiddos
This week we are going to explore Jamestown. The students will work on several activities this week that will give them a chance to be creative while learning about the first permanent English Settlement. The students will start on their Jamestown Journal Diary for their summative project. Later this week, the students will go on a virtual Jamestown Adventure in the computer lab.
This week forecast looks like there will be a strong chance of learning and fun.
This week week we are starting our unit on weather. This is a fun unit to explore and learn about since we live in Virginia and experience different types of weather. The students will get a chance to do a Weather Walk Observation outside, learn about weather through interactive notes, as well as bring in pictures that shows the students experiencing life in different types of weather.
